Owner, Artist

Terry Belair is a self-taught artist who was inspired by Carol Jones of Keene State College. When offered a scholarship to art school, she chose to raise her family instead but never once gave up her lifetime dream of painting.
In December of 1988 she established Terry’s Uniques, a solely owned and operated business providing Maine gift shops with her uniquely painted items. As an artist who hand paints with astonishing precision and detail, she still produces over 3,000 unique pieces of artwork annually.
With a loyal customer following, Terry displays her work in several places such as the Portland Head Light Museum and the gift shop at the Portland Headlight.
As an escape, Terry often finds herself painting in her log cabin in the unorganized woods of Maine. With no electricity or running water it keeps her grounded in the simplicity and natural beauty of life.
